Bladder Type Fuel Tank (Maritime Sector)

ADES manufactures flexible fuel tanks made from TPU-coated fabric for use in the maritime sector. Designed in various shapes and sizes, these tanks can be used as original equipment or as replacements for existing tanks.

Wide Range of Applications

ADES flexible fuel tanks are widely used in the following marine vessels:

  • Offshore racing boats
  • Luxury yachts
  • Military special operations vessels
  • Patrol boats and ships up to 50 meters

Flexible tanks age over time, so it is recommended to replace them every 10 years. However, due to their flexible structure, removal and reinstallation do not require major structural changes, significantly reducing maintenance costs.

Wide Range of Applications

Additionally, fuel tanks can be filled with polyurethane foam, which serves anti-surge and anti-explosion functions.

ADES can produce custom maritime fuel tanks ranging from 1 liter to 2500 liters. All tanks are manufactured according to the customer’s specific design.

Solutions with Flexible Fuel Tanks

Traditional maritime fuel tanks are typically made from stainless steel or integrated composite materials. However, both solutions have some disadvantages:

1. Stainless Steel Tanks

  • Galvanic corrosion can occur over time in welded areas.
  • This corrosion can lead to tank perforations.
  • Repair or replacement can be challenging and costly, sometimes requiring the removal of structural components.

2. Structural Tanks

  • They cannot always guarantee fuel impermeability.
  • If perfect sealing is not achieved, fuel can spread to large areas of the vessel’s hull.
Solutions with Flexible Fuel Tanks

The use of flexible tanks eliminates both issues:

  • Prevents fuel leakage into the vessel’s hull.
  • Eliminates stray currents that cause corrosion.

ADES’s innovative and durable flexible fuel tanks offer a safe, long-lasting, and cost-effective alternative for the maritime sector.
